It’s important to remember that the majority of the U.S. population has a positive perception of dairy farming and believes that dairy farmers take good care of their animals. Although they represent a very small percentage of the public, animal activists are not going away anytime soon.

In the case of an undercover video, a knee-jerk reaction may be to focus on the activists or their organization. Verbally attacking them at press conferences, in the media and through legal challenges doesn’t tell your story or share your values.

If you only receive ten seconds in the media, do you want to spend it talking about someone else? Probably not. Instead, tell your story and share your values. Focus on your animal handling and care practices and how your commitment to quality milk means taking care of your cows.

This course will help you better understand how activist groups work and assist you in becoming aware and prepared to deal with animal care issues.
